We are very proud to announce a new program for K&B's Infinity Standards & Goldendoodles. K&B Ambassadors! This program is very close to my heart and was inspired by the very first official Ambassadors. MISSION: TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON THE MULTIPLE TALENTS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES OF STANDARD POODLES AND GOLDENDOODLES. K&B AMBASSADORS STRIVE TO REPLACE MISCONCEPTIONS WITH AN IMPROVED IMAGE AND POSITIVE IMPRESSION OF THE BREED. Guilty. I was totally guilty of stereotyping Standard Poodles as “Froo-Froo”, “Snobby” and “Prissy”. Then I met one at my best friend’s house. I knew I had to have a Standard Poodle. As I am sure God intended, I found my Kimber and we haven’t looked back! Turns out, now I’m a little angry that I didn’t know how fantastic they are for the first 35 years of my life! I was robbed by a bad stereotype that permeates our culture. Poodles were the most popular dog in the U.S. for 22 years, 1960 to 1982, holding the #1 spot longer than any other breed. Nowadays, the words “Standard Poodle” brings to mind things like this, which I pulled from Wikipedia: “Poodles are commonly known as extensively groomed show dogs and companions with a distinctive clip, to such a degree that poodles in short pet clips often go unrecognized or mistaken as Poodle crosses ("Doodles"). This association of the breed's appearance and the resulting preconceptions is strong, and reflects in popular culture, where poodles most often are depicted as spoiled and perhaps obnoxious pets, or if anthropomorphic, snobby, selfish, and vain. Poodle owners are perceived stereotypically as fussy, frivolous, and impractical.” It's time to change that mentality! One Ambassador at a time. You may be thinking that Goldendoodles generally have a positive image, so why do they need improvement? While it’s true that most people know that Goldendoodles make great pets & companions, many do not realize that they also have great potential in other areas such as Service & Therapy or dog sports. They are underestimated by most, but keep in mind that the original breeds have already proven themselves in many realms. So what are K&B Ambassadors? They are a team comprised of an awesome human and an awesome dog. Together they will show people the great abilities of Standard Poodles and Goldendoodles. In areas such as dog sports (agility, dock diving, etc.), hunting, Service & Therapy, and even the official show ring. Simply put, they do great things, small and large. How do they do it? They do what they love to do, together. K&B Ambassadors go about their normal routines, but they do so as Representatives that are aware of the impact they can have on the people they encounter. They share their special talents with others, sometimes unknowingly with a smile or wagging of a tail.
Time for the revealing of the 1st official K&B Ambassadors!! Congratulations to Miss Peyton Stoudt and her new Standard Poodle puppy Gibbs!!! I have no doubt these 2 were meant for each other and they will be great Ambassadors! Peyton will be working on getting Gibbs certified as her official therapy dog. Congratulations to both of them and I have full faith you will do great things! 01/02/2019
